Sub : Haj 1431 (H) – 2010. Distribution of Additional Quota seats.
Kindly refer to the subject cited above. In this regard, it is to inform that, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi has released 10,000 additional seats for the Pilgrims traveling under the aegis of Haj Committee of India, during Haj 1431 (H) – 2010. The distribution of seats have been made in accordance with the Muslim population of 2001 Census, to the State/Union Territory Haj Committees, where the number of application received were in excess against their final quota allotted to them.
Haj Committee of India is pleased to inform that, ______ seats have been released in favor of your State/Union Territory Haj Committee on and 5% seats i.e. ______ seats have been kept on Waiting List to take care of dropouts and cancellations. Due to paucity of time, it has been decided to hold Computerized Qurrah (draw of lots) by the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai, from the data of rejected Pilgrims of each State/Union Territory available with this office. The Computerized Qurrah of your State/Union Territory will be held on __________, at around 10.00 a.m. The State/Union Territory Haj Committees have to download the list of selected Pilgrims from the web site of the Haj Committee of India, and inform the Pilgrims accordingly. The Pilgrims may be advised to submit their Application Forms to the State Haj Committee, duly filled in all respect alongwith International Passport and pay-in-slip payable towards total airfare and accommodation for Azizia Category, which is the only accommodation available at present in Makkah. The Pilgrims may be informed specifically about the Azizia Category, before filling their Application Forms. The last date for submission of Application Forms by the Pilgrims to the respective State Haj Committee has been fixed as 15th September, 2010. The State/Union Territory State Haj Committee in turn will submit the same to the Haj Committee of India by or before 20th September, 2010, positively.
As you aware that, Haj is a time bound programme. Any delay in submission of Application Forms and Passports within the prescribed time limit will have a direct impact on the calendar of activities and will be difficult to obtain Haj Visa on the Passports at the last moment. It is, therefore requested that the State/Union Territory Haj Committees should strictly adhere to the date fixed by the Haj Committee of India, to make the ensuing Haj MOST SUCCESSFUL.
